Regular Plurals

For most nouns, the general rule for making the word plural is:

• If the word ends in s, x, ch or sh, add an "es" Bless + es = blesses

Box + es = boxes

catch + es = catches

Dish + es = dishes

• If the word ends in a consonant (all letters except a, e, i, o, u) + y, then change the "y" to an "i" and ad the letters "es" Baby = Babies

Candy = candies

• For all other non-irregular nouns, simply add an "s" to the end of the word Cat = cats

Dog = dogs

Kid = kids

Irregular Plurals

The vast majority of nouns in the English language are made plural by adding an "s" or "es" to the end of the word. For example, book, apple, house, table, door, cat, bush, boss are just some of the millions of words that become plural with the simple addition of an "s" (books, apples, houses, tables, doors, cats, bushes, bosses). However, certain nouns have "irregular" plurals which do not behave in this standard way.

Certain words do not follow the above rules for regular plurals. There are some common types of irregular plurals that occur, and some words simply have no plural form at all.

While it is useful to memorize the common irregular plurals, for many words you simply have to know and understand that it is an irregular plural as a result of speaking and hearing English

Non-Count Nouns

Non-count nouns, also called collective nouns, have no plural form because they are assumed to be plural. Most abstract nouns are non-count nouns. Some examples are:

• Hair
• Grass
• Mud
• Dress (when referring to a style of dress, not when referring to a clothing item that hangs in your closet)

If you are talking about multiple varieties or types of these irregular plurals, you cannot make them plural by adding an "s" or "es" to the end.  Instead, you need to make them plural by adding a descriptive phrase.  For example:

• There are many different styles of hair
• There are several varieties of grass
• There are three different kinds of mud
• The ancient people had a few types of styles of dress

Unchanging Nouns

Certain other nouns have the same plural form as singular form. A large number of animals happen to follow this rule. For example, among others:

• Deer is "deer" whether singular or plural
• Fish is "fish" whether singular or plural
• Bison is "bison" whether singular or plural
• Moose is "moose" whether singular or plural
• Elk is "elk" whether singular or plural. 

Other Irregular Plurals

In addition to non-count nouns and unchanging nouns, there are several different types of irregular plurals which follow a pattern in the English language.

• For words that end in "fe," you change the letter "f" to the letter "v" and then add "s"

Knife = knives

Wife = wives

• For words that end in "f" you change the "f" to a "v" and add "es"

Half = halves

Loaf = loaves

• For words that end in "us," change the "us" to an "i"

Syllabus = syallabi

• For words that end in "o" add "es"

Tomato = tomatoes

Words that Change Form

Certain words do not add a letter to the end, but instead change the word itself. These words simply need to be memorized. Some examples include:

• Man to men
• People to persons
• Tooth to teeth
• Goose to geese

The best way to learn and understand irregular plurals is to practice speaking the English language, to read a great deal, to pay attention to words and phrases that you see and hear and to assemble a list of words with irregular plurals so you can begin to understand how to make each noun plural correctly.

Kita semua pasti sadar akan kebesaran nama dari negara kita tercinta ini. Negara dengan jumlah populasi lebih dari 250 juta jiwa. Negara dengan sumber daya alam yang melimpah. Salah satu negara demokrasi terbesar. Negara penuh dengan budayanya. Dan negara yang terkenal akan keramahannya.

Mempunya predikat sebagai negara dengan jumlah populasi penduduk yang sangat besar, merupakan salah satu aset bagi negara dalam menumbuhkan tingkat pendapatan negara. Karena dengan mempunyai jumlah penduduk lebih dari 250 juta, maka itu berarti, tingkat konsumen dari negeri kita tercinta ini tidaklah sedikit.

Banyaknya jumlah penduduk Indonesia, telah banyak dimanfaatkan oleh negara-negara lain khususnya dalam penjualan produk buatan negara mereka. Bisa kita lihat, hampir di seluruh tempat penjualan, tidak hanya 1, 2, atau 3, bahkan puluhan barang dengan merk dari negara lain ada di Indonesia.

Kita bisa bayangkan, jika produk yang dibeli oleh masyarakat kita adalah produk buatan lokal, maka keuntungan yang dapat kita raih sangatlah luar biasa. Kita menyadari, banyak yang masih memerlukan evaluasi dari produk-produk lokal kita untuk dapat bersaing dengan produk luar negeri lainnya. Namun saya percaya, bahwa dari segi kualitas, produk yang telah dihasilkan oleh negara kita tercinta ini, tidaklah kalah saing dengan produk luar negeri lainnya. Hal itu dapat dilihat, sekarang ini, Indonesia telah berhasil memperkenalkan beberapa produk buatan lokal kita sendiri ke pasar luar negeri.

Banyak manfaat yang dapat kita dapatkan dari mencintai produk buatan lokal. Semua yang saat ini berada di sini, tentunya menginginkan kestabilan ekonomi negara, menginginkan kenaikan taraf hidup dari masyarakat Indonesia. Indonesia saat ini sedang menggalakkan akan membeli produk buatan lokal, tentunya, semua itu memiliki tujuan yang baik. Apabila tingkat konsumsi masyarakat Indonesia akan produk lokal naik, maka tingkat produksi dari produk tersebut akan lebih tinggi. Hal tersebut tentunya akan berdampak pada lebih dibutuhkannya tenaga kerja sehingga dapat pula menyerap sumber daya manusia di Indonesia yang sangat melimpah ini. Serta, bisa pula mengurangi tingkat pengangguran di negara kita tercinta ini.

Kita semua tentunya juga menginginkan produk kita lebih dikenal dengan masyarakat dari negara lain. Hal itu bukan tidak mungkin tidak dapat kita lakukan. Kita bisa mewujudkan hal tersebut dengan memulainya dari diri kita sendiri. Jika kita ingin memperkenalkan produk buatan negara kita ke luar negeri, maka hal pertama yang harusnya kita lakukan adalah kita mencintai produk kita, sehingga kita dapat dengan percaya diri memperkenalkan produk kita kepada masyarakat dari negara lain.

Jika masyarakat negara lain mengenal produk kita sehingga kita dapat menduduki pangsa pasar mereka, maka keuntungan lain kita dapatkan. Karena tentunya, hal tersebut dapat meningkatkan tingkat ekspor produk kita sehingga pendapatan negara kita dari tingkat ekspor naik dan kestabilan ekonomi kita bukan tidak mungkin dapat terjaga.

Kita semua tentunya memahami akan keuntungan yang dapat kita raih dari mencintai produk buatan lokal kita. Dari pemahaman tersebut, marilah kita jaga kestabilan tingkat ekonomi negara kita tercinta ini bersama-sama dengan memulainya dari mencintai produk lokal dan menggalakkan membeli produk lokal.

Hallo everybody, wellcome to my blog. My name is Erika Rahmawati. I was born on 09 November 1996. I life in Hulaan – Menganti – Gresik. My favorite colour is white. My hobby are Listen Music, Watch Movie, Fotograph, Video and Photo Editing, and refreshing. For refreshing, I have some favorite place to visit, they are garden, because I like beautifull place. My room, because I like privat place. Dream line beach in Bali, because that is a beautifull place, and I have a beautifull moment there. Losari beach, because I have a family there, so I think that I have to love that’s place, but I believe that Losari beach also a pretty place to visit. Than, there are Pacet Mojokerto, I ever go to there, and I was wondering about the picture, that was so beautifull, and if I have a free time, I like to go there again. And I love Wakatobi Island, I believe that everyone know about that beautifull island right? I believe that everyone know about the wonderfull under water picture of Wakatobi, that is so beautifull. And Wakatobi also be one of an icon of Indonesia. 

Stop talking about my favorite place, now lets we talk about my personality. Erika is emosional person, because Iam a moody person. But, I always try to be friendly, so Iam a simpathy person, but, everyone maybe dont undrestaind if I a spoil person. Now, I will tell you about the history of my study, I was graduated from public elementary school of Hulaan at 2008, than I choose public junior high school 2 of Menganti and I was graduated from that school at 2011, after that, I study in public vacational school of Cerme Gresik and choose Multimedia to be my major, and I was graduated from that school at 2014. And now, I continue my study in the best polytecnic in Indonesia (for me, my college in the best one) that is Electronic Engineering Polytecnic Institude of Surabaya, now, Iam a student of Multimedia and Broadcasting.

Let me tell about my Family, I have a father, a mother, and three brothers. My fathers name is La Ode Mauludin Aziz, he is come from Buton, Kendari. My mothers name is Suliyanti, she is come from Gresik. My first brothers name is Adam Octabrian Aziz, he was born on 05 October 1999, now he is study in public junior high school 2 of Menganti, his hobby is cooking. My second brothers name is Putra Saktian Jaya Aziz, he was born on 28 January 2002, now he is study in public elementary school of Hulaan, his hobby is playing football. My third brothers name is Kaiser Mayesti Aziz, he is was born on 02 January 2004, now he is study in public elementary school of Hulaan, his hobby is playing football.

I have a dream, yes I believe that everyone have a dream right. My big dream is, I wanna be an Editor of Film. Yes, that’s why I choose Multimedia to be my major in EEPIS. I also want to be an Enterpreneur, and than, I want to be an inspire of all people in the world, specially, people in my lovely country. I have some motto. I believe in my self, I can be what I wanna be, I will do everything to make my dreams comes true, and I believe nothing is imposible in this world.
